Dam, Levee & Canal Camera & Webcam - Monitoring & Surveillance Wireless GPRS Camera - Observer IV
Camera & Webcam for Dam, Levee & Canal Monitoring & Surveillance
With the Observer IV Dam, Levee & Canal Monitoring & Surveillance Camera & Webcam system, dam and levee operational
management and security personnel can visually monitor or provide surveillance on a continuous basis for their
dams and levees located any where in the world within GRPS cellular coverage areas. The Observer camera and
webcam system can be operated in both day and night, with night vision low light infrared capability.
Our GPRS GSM wireless mobile dam, levee and canal surveillance camera & webcam allows personnel to go to any
computer in the world with an Internet connection and view near real-time digital pictures or images on their
browser, ask for a picture to be taken at that time, or schedule pictures to be taken at any desired time interval.
Installation of the camera is simple. All that is required is to mount the camera in a location suitable for
acquiring the pictures or images required.

Monitor Current Dam & Levee Condition, Water Level & Current Weather with Camera &
Webcam system
With the Observer IV camera & webcam system, dam, levee and canal management can monitor the current condition of
any given dam, levee or canal, look for possible breaches or leaks during or after adverse weather conditions such
as hurricanes, tropic storms, and tornadoes, constantly check water level and monitor current weather conditions.
Monitoring and surveillance of remote dams, levees and canals is possible, as long as these facilities are
located within GPRS GSM cellular coverage areas.
The Observer camera & webcam system can be automatically triggered to take pictures by external events from motion
detectors, infrared heat sensors, or many other types of remote event triggers and sensors. The camera system
can be set to automatically take pictures at specific intervals of time, for example, once every 5, 15, 30 or 60
minutes. This provides a time-lapse effect when viewing dam, levee or canal conditions, water levels and weather
conditions over the course of several hours or each day. Breaches to security or secure areas can be identified
and tracked as well.
Progress on current dam, levee or canal construction, or reconstruction efforts can be monitored remotely by
personnel located anywhere in the world. The water level and condition of canals flowing throughout cities and
rural and remote areas can be monitored as well. The Observer camera & webcam is ideal for those remote locations
where it is impractical or impossible to hard wire other types of camera systems.

Mobile or Temporary Dam, Levee & Canal Surveillance Camera & Webcam
The Observer IV camera & webcam system is easily moved as the visual monitoring and surveillance requirements for
any particular dam, levee or canal changes. Observer can easily move as projects or programs are completed and
new initiatives are started. The camera & webcam system can be used for temporary or short-term operations or
facilities surveillance needs. For example, before an approaching hurricane hit land, a group of Observer camera
& webcam systems could be moved into position around a potentially vulnerable levee or group of levees and canals,
to provide continuous, round-the-clock surveillance and monitoring of levee or canal condition, structural
integrity and water levels. The camera & webcam system can easily be moved around any given site or to new sites
as target surveillance areas change.

Monitor Dam, Levee & Canal Maintenance & Construction or Reconstruction
Compliance with Government Regulations
Dam, levee and canal Management can easily monitor compliance with government regulations by contract Labor or
other workers during maintenance, construction or reconstruction projects. Work progress during these projects
can easily be monitored on any site with the time-lapse effect of regularly scheduled camera and webcam pictures
and images. Hazardous or dangerous conditions or situations can be quickly identified and then rectified, by on
or off-site personnel located anywhere in the world.

Viewing Pictures or Images using Your Computer
There are many ways
to view pictures after Observer IV has automatically uploaded them to
an FTP server. Included with Observer IV is FTP client software that
automatically checks the FTP server for new pictures from up to four
cameras simultaneously at user selected time intervals.
You may download Colorado Video's FTPJPGReader software now and try it by following these instructions.
A browser, like the one your using now, may also be used to view pictures.
For instance, just type "ftp://www.colorado-video.com/incoming/" into your browser's address bar to see a list of files on Colorado Video's FTP server.
Click on a ".jpg" to view it.
If you're using the Opera browser, you can set it to automatically update the picture periodically.
Simply click "Navigation" then "Reload Every" and then select your desired update time interval.
Opera has a great feature here because it can be used to update any web page automatically at any time interval you desire.
