and Federal Department of Transporation (DOT) operational management and traffic personnel can visually monitor

Camera & Webcam to Monitor Current Highway, Road, Bridge & Mountain Pass Traffic
Level & Weather Conditions
With the Lookout VI camera & webcam system, Department of Transportation personnel can monitor the current traffic
level and weather conditions of any section of highway, road, bridge or mountain pass. DOT personnel can monitor
possible problems with highway and road traffic flow such as accidents, multi-car pile ups, road obstructions, or
other dangerous road conditions. Current weather conditions, including adverse weather conditions such as
hurricanes, tropic storms, snow storms, a blizzard, an avalanche, heavy rain storms, tornadoes, and other weather
phenomenon can constantly be monitored along most sections of highways, roads, bridges and mountain passes.
Monitoring and surveillance of remote sections of roads, highways and bridges, including mountain passes, is
possible, as long as these areas are located within GPRS GSM cellular coverage areas. The Lookout camera &
webcam system can be automatically triggered to take pictures by external events from motion detectors, infrared
heat sensors, or many other types of remote event triggers and sensors. The camera system can be set to
automatically take pictures or images at specific intervals of time, for example, once every 5, 15, 30 or 60
minutes. This provides a time-lapse effect when viewing road and highway traffic and weather conditions over the
course of several hours or each day. Breaches to security or secure areas can be identified and tracked as well.
Progress on highway and road construction, or reconstruction efforts can be monitored remotely by personnel
located anywhere in the world. The Lookout camera & webcam system is ideal for those remote locations where it
is impractical or impossible to hard wire other types of camera systems.

Mobile or Temporary Highway, Road, Bridge & Mountain Pass Surveillance Camera
& Webcam
The Lookout VI camera & webcam system is easily moved as the visual monitoring and surveillance requirements for
any particular highway, road, bridge or mountain pass changes. Lookout can be moved as projects or programs are
completed and new initiatives are started. The camera & webcam system can be used for temporary or short-term
operations or facilities surveillance needs. For example, before an approaching hurricane or blizzard hit land,
a group of Lookout camera systems could be moved into position around important or a potentially vulnerable
section of highway, road, bridge or overpass to provide continuous, round-the-clock surveillance and monitoring
of highway and road condition, structural integrity, water levels and flooding. The camera and webcam system can
easily be moved around any given section of highway, road, bridge or mountain pass or to new sites as target
surveillance areas change.

Viewing Pictures or Images using Your Computer
There are many ways
to view pictures after Lookout VI has automatically uploaded them to
an FTP server. Included with Lookout VI is FTP client software that
automatically checks the FTP server for new pictures from up to four
cameras simultaneously at user selected time intervals.
You may download Colorado Video's FTPJPGReader software now and try it by following these instructions.
A browser, like the one your using now, may also be used to view pictures.
For instance, just type "ftp://www.colorado-video.com/incoming/" into your browser's address bar to see a list of files on Colorado Video's FTP server.
Click on a ".jpg" to view it.
If you're using the Opera browser, you can set it to automatically update the picture periodically.
Simply click "Navigation" then "Reload Every" and then select your desired update time interval.
Opera has a great feature here because it can be used to update any web page automatically at any time interval you desire.
