Remote Mobile GPRS Wireless Internet Snapshot Camera Lookout-V
Available with IR Motion Detection and Night Vision!
|
Colorado Video's Lookout V GSM-EDGE-GPRS, Remote, Mobile, Wireless, Internet, Weatherproof, Snapshot Camera (currently in stock) transmits standard JPG snapshot pictures from remote sites via the GPRS or EDGE data portion of the GSM Mobile Cellular Phone Network to any FTP Server or E-Mail address. Snapshot transmission can be according to user-programmed schedule, or commanded by SMS text message. In addition, Lookout-V/IRM (12-16 weeks ARO) will send pictures when it senses motion, day or night.
Option "IRM" includes a built-in invisible IR illuminator and PIR motion sensor. IR LEDs, mounted below the lens window, activate as needed to provide invisible IR light for monochrome pictures from low light situations up to 50 feet away from the camera. A built-in passive infrared sensor senses intrusion or trouble and triggers picture transmission plus an optional SMS text message to your mobile phone. When its "Burst" mode is selected, Lookout-V/IRM will send a series of jpg pictures for a five minute period. Delivery for Option IRM is currently 12-16 weeks ARO.
AC Adapter, solar power, or external batteries can supply power.
Additionally, Lookout-V/IRM can be triggered by Wireless PIR Motion and Magnetic Vehicle Detectors (12-16 weeks ARO).
Compare Observer-IV, Lookout-V, and Lookout-V/IRM.

Features
Function
The Lookout V Remote Site Camera uses GPRS cellular internet service offered by GSM cellular providers including
AT&T Data Connect and
T-Mobile Internet Only to transmit JPG images to any FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or email server of your choice.
Images can be acquired according to schedule and/or upon external triggers such as motion sensors or trip switches.
Once Observer has transmitted them to the server, images can be viewed, managed, archived, and served to other web clients.
Mechanical
The Lookout V GSM Remote Site Wireless Internet Camera is a weather proof unit constructed in a polycarbonate plastic case with a clear cover through which the lens can see. Controls and interface connectors are behind the cover which can be removed for access. The GSM antenna is contained within the chassis. The camera is mounted by means of a standard 1/4-20 threaded hole at the bottom of the chassis.
Setup
GPRS data service must be established for Lookout V before snapshots can be transmitted.
Cellular data service coverage maps are viewable for T-Mobile, and AT&T. Cellular data rate plans are also viewable for T-Mobile's Unlimited Internet Plan and AT&T.
Operational settings for Lookout V are made using a common
browser running on a computer connected to the camera through an RS-232
port before final installation.
These settings include exposure, picture quality, color balance,
picture size in pixels, transmission schedule, external trigger, html
link page generator, time, date, day, GPRS account settings (APN and
PIN), and FTP and HTTP server settings (IP addresses, folders, and
passwords).
Viewing Pictures using Your Computer
There are many ways
to view pictures after Lookout V has automatically uplaoded them to
an FTP server. Included with Lookout V is FTP client software that
automatically checks the FTP server for new pictures from up to four
cameras simultaneously at user selected time intervals.
You may download Colorado Video's FTPJPGReader software now and try it by following these instructions.
A browser, like the one your using now, may also be used to view pictures.
For instance, just type "ftp://www.colorado-video.com/incoming/" into your browser's address bar to see a list of files on Colorado Video's FTP server.
Click on a ".jpg" to view it.
If you're using the Opera browser, you can set it to automatically update the picture periodically.
Simply click "Navigation" then "Reload Every" and then select your desired update time interval.
Opera has a great feature here because it can be used to update any web page automatically at any time interval you desire.
