With the Observer IV Electrical Substation, Power Plant Monitoring & Surveillance Camera & Power Line Webcam
system, utility company facility managers can visually monitor or provide surveillance on a continuous basis for
their utility facilities, transformers, substations, power lines and power plant generation, transmission and
distribution facilities and equipment located any where in the world within GRPS cellular coverage areas. Downed
or damaged power lines can be identified using the power line cam and facility management alerted to near
real-time power line hazards and condition.
The Observer substation camera, power line webcam, can be operated in both day and night, with night vision low
light infrared capability. Our GPRS GSM wireless mobile electrical substation, power plant and line camera allows
facility management to utilize any computer in the world with an Internet connection and view near real-time
digital pictures on their browser, ask for a picture or image to be taken at that time, or schedule pictures to
be taken at any desired time interval. Installation is simple. All that is required is to mount the camera,
webcam system in a location suitable for acquiring the pictures or images you require.

Monitor Substation, Power Plant Copper & Steel Theft - Detect and Possibly
Deter Copper & Steel Theft
With Observer IV power substation camera and webcam, substation facility managers can be alerted immediately when
a possible copper, steel or other metal theft or other vandalism is occurring at one or more of their substations
or power plants. The Observer power substation camera and webcam system can be automatically triggered to take
pictures by external events from motion detectors, infrared heat sensors, or many other types of remote event
triggers. The camera and webcam system can also be set to automatically take and transmit pictures at specific
intervals of time, for example, once every 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes or longer. This provides a time-lapse effect
when viewing changes to a substation, power plant or power line site over any period of time, or possible breaches
to security or secure substation, power plant or power line facilities.

Mobile or Temporary Substation or Power Station & Power Line Facility Camera &

Observer IV camera and webcam system is easily moved as substation or power station & power line facilities
change and visual monitoring needs evolve. Observer can easily move as projects are completed and new projects
are started. The camera and webcam system can be used for temporary or short-term facilities surveillance needs.
The power substation camera and webcam system can easily be moved around any given site or to new sites as target
surveillance areas change.

Help Prevent Electrocution, Monitor Downed Power Lines, Monitor Compliance with
Government Regulations
Utility substation facility management can monitor the safety of possible metal thieves, work contractors and
other laborer's to help prevent accidents such as electrocution around electrical facilities and downed power
lines. Compliance with government regulations such as OSHA can be monitored as well, while personnel are
performing their duties.
Power lines can be monitored during storms or other weather events with the power line webcam to monitor possible
damage as it occurs. Hazardous or dangerous conditions or situations, such as those around downed or damaged
power lines can be quickly identified and rectified, by off-site substation, power plant or power line management
located anywhere in the world.

Viewing Pictures or Images using Your Computer
There are many ways
to view pictures after Observer IV has automatically uploaded them to
an FTP server. Included with Observer IV is FTP client software that
automatically checks the FTP server for new pictures from up to four
cameras simultaneously at user selected time intervals.
You may download Colorado Video's FTPJPGReader software now and try it by following these instructions.
A browser, like the one your using now, may also be used to view pictures.
For instance, just type "ftp://www.colorado-video.com/incoming/" into your browser's address bar to see a list of files on Colorado Video's FTP server.
Click on a ".jpg" to view it.
If you're using the Opera browser, you can set it to automatically update the picture periodically.
Simply click "Navigation" then "Reload Every" and then select your desired update time interval.
Opera has a great feature here because it can be used to update any web page automatically at any time interval you desire.
