XY Positioner - 620 Series
The 620 series of Video XY indicator, Video XY Positioner, Video Cross Hair, Video Cross Line Generator, and
Video Pattern Generator, provide a highly stable means of superimposing a cross hair or cross line pattern
onto a video signal. This function is particularly useful for alignment of subject material, such as a
semiconductor wafer with a predetermined location. The 620 series is a type of video pattern generator,
and can generate a variety of patterns for bore sighting, laser alignment, and other applications.
These instruments are free-standing units using 100-240 VAC power input. Vertical and horizontal positioning
of the cross-hairs is by means of front panel screwdriver adjustments (620 Series) or by means of front panel
knobs (620A Series). Lockable knobs are optional. A front panel switch selects a display of either a white
or black cross-hair pattern in order to accommodate subjects of different brightness.
Applications
Precision Highway Line Striping
Equipped with carefully mounted cameras, a video cross hair or cross line generator, and a video monitor in the
cab, a highway line striping truck easily puts highway stripes precisely where they belong.
Automated Component Pick & Place Precision Targeting
Cross hairs or cross lines overlayed or superimposed on video systems used for setting up automated electronic
component pick and place machines allow an operator to precisely train the machine as to where components belong
on a PC board.
Precision Laser Marking & Laser Welding
A adjustable crosshair or crossline equipped video camera and monitor system can indicate where a powerful laser
is going to hit before it's pulsed.
Silicon Wafer Precision Cutting and Sawing
A video picture with crosslines or crosshairs superimposed or overlayed can facilitate proper alignment of a
silicon wafer or other material before it's cut.
Accurate Docking of Blimps and Other Large Vessels
Some blimps and other large vessels are equipped with video cameras and a cross hair or crossline generator to
help blimp or vessel pilots accurately guide these vehicles for mooring.
Multiple Pass Printing Process Alignment
Cross hair or cross line equipped video systems can help assure proper alignment for multiple pass
printing processes.
